One of my favorite things in this world is art, creating art on canvas is a gift that I however do not possess. Luckily there are so many wonderful artists out there that we have a wide variety of amazing pieces to choose from when bringing art into our lives and homes. A single piece can direct inspiration for a space or an entire home. I love being able to share these amazingly talented people with you here and get a little incite into their lives and what drives them as creatives. This month we have a chance to see what makes artist Belynda Henry tick. Belynda creates amazing abstract landscape pieces full of color and life... love them!
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I don’t think I ever thought of that question when I was young, luckily I realized I loved art at high school, so that led me to art school. Degree in Bachelor of Visual Arts. Sydney University. Then I knew , what I wanted to be.. of course an artist.
Where do you find inspiration?
Artists. A long long list of…both past and present.
Seeing art in homes, magazine addict!!! And blog addict…
Colour. And colour combinations.
Light. different times of day and the seasons.
Creative, enthusiastic and passionate people.
And obviously THE LANDSCAPE… and the valley I live in. Dooralong Valley.
Do you work from home? Office? Studio?
I work from home where I have a studio attached to the house, so I am never too far away from my family. (2 girls, Chloe and Milla.) We live on 40 acres at the very end of the valley, then surrounded my national park, we can not see anyone and I love it that way.
Are you a City girl or a Country girl?
Country girl, who loves to visit the city for all the exciting things it has to offer. Happiest in the country.
What are you reading right now?
I don’t get time to read many books. So I read as many articles on creative people as I can. Usually I paint till midnight so I have to skip the read before bed thing.
